Kaleechi Soap Company Review: Local Spotlight

I am just over the top excited about this post. I just can't believe my luck! I found this great lady on Etsy, when I was looking through local products earlier last week. I saw her Dead Sea Salt scrub, and I thought that it would be fun to try. I contacted her about it, we chatted online for a bit, then texted for awhile, and then eventually met at a Starbucks between us, and sat and talked for about two hours. I got to know her a little bit (and I'm pretty sure she is one of the coolest people I have met in Virginia!) and really got to see her views on her products and store and where she is hoping to be going. She spent some time with me explaining each of her products and what she was trying to accomplish with each item. She showed me things she hasn't put in her shop yet because she needs to do more research and really understand her product more before listing it. It was very obvious to me that although this was a side job for her, she puts a lot of time and love into her products and I think it shows in her end products. She has several different types of soap, washes, body splashes, scrubs, lotions . . . and they all smell great!

I definitely went into this review very ignorant. I had no idea that you could do so many different things with soap, and they could all have a slightly different feel. I thought soap was soap! She has a great variety of products beyond just soap though. She has scrubs, lotions, deodorants, and even lip balms. You could revamp your entire cleaning regimen from one store!

Have you looked at the ingredients of the products you use every day on your face and body, and your children's face and bodies? Looking up some of the ingredients is terrifying. Parabens, carcinogens, and lots of skin irritants. Something that really blew my mind was all these products aimed towards eczema that have ingredients that are known irritants to patients with eczema. I just couldn't believe it. I'm so glad I found this shop so I could see the scary things that were in my every day products.

I'm probably preaching to the choir here, so I'll move on. Why should you care about this company? They have some wonderful products, and the shop owner is always trying out new formulas and seeing how she can improve what she has already. She puts a lot of thought and effort into everything she puts out, so you can be sure you aren't getting a sub-par product. Talking to her about this company, I can see that quality is important to her.

Instead of one long post about all the awesome products I was given for review, I've decided to break up these posts into several smaller posts. I will add the links in at the bottom of this post. Then at the end of the week we're going to have a great giveaway for you, so you can try these products out too. Don't we all deserve a good giveaway??

Let's get started. Today I tried out the Dead Sea Salt and Tangerine Scrub. After all, it was the original product I wanted to try, so I couldn't resist trying it out first. The ingredients are very simple: Dead Sea salt, sweet almond oil, tangerine essential oil, and optiphen plus. What the heck is that? Oh let me tell you about optiphen plus. It's a preservative that isn't formaldehyde or a paraben, meaning you don't have to worry that you're putting a known carcinogen on your body.

It's a nice little scrub. I haven't used one in quite some time, so my face was really happy with the results. I just splashed my face with some water and then scrubbed away for a bit and then washed it down the drain. You know, how everyone uses scrubs. It was invigorating and made my face feel shiny and new. Something about citrus just really wakes me up in the morning, so I felt more awake. Perhaps it was throwing water on my face though? I very much recommend this yummy smelling scrub that is full of simple ingredients and happiness. Have you smelled happiness? I think it smells like tangerines.

Tell me what you think! Would you like to try a Dead Sea salt and tangerine scrub? What ingredients are in your face products? Can you pronounce them?

Here is another review for the soaps provided!
Soaps!
